How tall will a tree grow?
Trees and people have a lot of similarities, and a lot of differences. A tree will never stop growing as long as it is alive. A tree will grow as high as it can, push its root as deep as it can.
Unfortunately, many people stop growing somewhere along their way through life. Many stop growing at an early age. I have known people who died at the age of 25 or 30, but have not been buried yet because their death was mental rather than physical. They just go through the motions of the rut they created for themselves. You know what a rut is, right? It’s a coffin with the ends kicked out.
Trees are stuck with the environment within which they sprouted. I was on a train ride from Skagway, Alaska through the White Pass into Canada. Near the summit, there were trees that were 100 years old, but could never grow taller than about 4-5 feet because of the thin air and the brutal winters.
In California, you will find the Giant Sequoias trees, the tallest of which is 316 feet high. Unlike people, however, trees can’t move, so the one’s in the White Pass can’t pack up and move to a better environment. People, on the other hand, can leave a negative environment where they started and move somewhere that would be more beneficial to them. They can get educated and prepare themselves for a better life. It’s easy to get an education and to work to improve yourself, so why do so many people fail to do so. BECAUSE IT’S EASY NOT TO DO.
The people who fail to work on themselves at all times and do what it takes to improve their environment have no one to blame but themselves. It’s never too late to start. The 36-year-old guy says, “If I go back to school now, I will be 40 before I am finished!” The question is, “How old will you be by that time if you don’t go back to school?” Obviously, the answer is still “40”, except he will be missing the knowledge that he failed to seek.
Become a tree. Keep growing throughout your life.
