Positive Thought for the Week of August 17, 2020

I read this today, and it seems that in these difficult times if is something that we could all learn from.

“At some point you just have to let go of what you thought should happen and live in what is happening.”

I have written about this before, but based on some of the bitterness that is being projected recently, it seems that the message should come out again.

Things happen in life and people might think that it’s not fair. I once knew someone who, when something bad happened to her, her response was, “That’s SO not fair!” Of course, that did not change a thing about what happened. Usually what happens, happens to everyone in some form or another over their lifetime.  But remember …

It’s not what happens that makes a difference. It is what you do about what happens.

Rather than hiding, or complaining, or sulking, or feeling sorry for yourself and thinking things should have happened “this way,” you need to understand that they didn’t happen the way you would have hoped for. Then you can move forward into the future.

Keep the past small and the future large

When you can learn to think of yesterday without a regret and tomorrow without a fear, you are on the road to success.  Like the rear view mirror and a windshield, it is more important to look forward than backwards.

Nothing can defeat a positive attitude and positive thinking. Positive action helps, too.

Be sure to subscribe there so you don’t miss any future thoughts.
