Positive Thought for the Week of April 6, 2020

The letter of the week is “M”, so let’s talk about mistakes.  I always joke that I have never made a mistake.  I thought I did once, but I was wrong.

The reality is that we all make mistakes from time to time. We say something based on faulty information or faulty opinions.  People who never make a mistake have never tried anything new. The question is, what do we do when we learn that we have made a mistake?

“When you make a mistake, there are only three things you should ever do about it: admit it, learn from it, and don’t repeat it.” Paul Bear Bryant

“Mistakes are always forgivable if one has the courage to admit them.” Bruce Lee

Many people post things here based on faulty opinions or opinions. Sometimes, when those people are informed by the facts, they ignore them and continue on with their rant. Instead of admitting their mistake, they double down on their opinions and resort to trying to humiliate those who pointed out their mistake.

Unfortunately, some people’s minds are like concrete.  All mixed up and permanently set.

Open your mind, have the courage to admit your mistakes and learn that you can never be “always right.”  Be the bigger person.
